Is anyone watching The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu?
by Biahi inafter finishing season 6, episode 5, it occurred to me that, if the jws were right, (they’re not), the “new system” would end up being very much like this.
picture the commanders as the elders.. it’s a riveting series.
i wanted to see it, because i read the book when it first came out.

@Duran
The scriptures I cited provide more than enough evidence to answer your questions. Why did you not comment on any of them?
Putting aside for a moment that all you said is nonsense, I want to at least engage in your reasoning.
Probably close to 90 % of my post were just scripture citations. All nonsense?
I can see why you would want to characterize the bible as nonsense and approach this topic with WT reasoning, because it threatens your hope of nothingness and unconsciousness when you die.Imagine being conscious for eternity, alone, abandoned, forgotten forever, and ever and ever and ever. It is this reality that is driving your supression and probably full on repression of the word of God in regards to your tripartite nature.

Green Handshakes - Taxable income in Australia
by Listener ini was doing some research on the taxable status of money being gifted to co’s and travelling missionaries and was surprised with what i found.
i had assumed that it was not taxable income in australia.. it is taxable income in australia and it‘s likely that the same rules apply in some other countries.. a registered religious institution only receives tax free status on donations because they have been endorsed by the australian tax office.
travelling overseas and missionaries are not in this category.. there’s a tax ruling that goes into great detail.

This image demonstrates the proper way for JW's to discreetly perform a green handshake:

When believers find themselves "absent from the body", where are they? Scripture says they will are "present with the Lord".
"whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". - 2 Cor. 5
There are lots of dead souls in heaven, thinking, feeling, remembering, talking etc.
I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? - Rev. 6: 9-11
The bible says that death happens when a person's soul leaves their body.
Gen. 25: 18-19 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
No one is "resurrected to spirit life". That is a Watchtower scam.... attributing new definitions to commonly understood words. All the dead souls in heaven (or elswhere) are dead. They will not be alive until their bodies are resurrected and they are made "whole" again.
Jesus recognized that a dead girl needed to be made whole again:Luke 8 - While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Jesus made her whole again when he resurrected her a short time later.

Your message is a sad display of precisely the kind of arrogant, crude, and confused rhetoric that exposes the spiritual poverty of your worldview. You dismiss not only Catholicism but every form of religion, then hypocritically wield the Bible like a weapon — as if you were its sole, self-appointed guardian... mocking the dead, and congratulating yourself for insulting people who mourn. That’s not biblical authority. That’s blasphemous pride.
I really couldn't have said it better myself. This almost perfectly describes how I felt growing up JW. Jehovah's Witnesses pionered this type blunt force mental abuse.

Jephthah's Daughter
by cantleave ini have read somewhere that jephthah's daughter did not really go into temple service but was a victim of ritual sacrifice.
the bible says that after weeping over her virginity that the maidens would visit her annually.
how could they visit her if she was killed?.

From Got Questions:
The Bible does not explicitly state that Jephthah sacrificed his daughter as a burnt offering. Since his daughter was mourning the fact that she would never marry instead of mourning that she was about to die (Judges 11:36-37), this possibly indicates that Jephthah gave her to the tabernacle as a servant instead of sacrificing her. However, again, Judges 11:39 does seem to indicate that he did follow through with the sacrifice: "He did to her as he had vowed."
Whatever the case, God had specifically forbidden offering human sacrifices, so it was absolutely not God’s desire for Jephthah to sacrifice his daughter (Leviticus 20:1-5). Jeremiah 7:31; 19:5; and 32:35 clearly indicate that the idea of human sacrifice has "never even entered God’s mind." The account of Jephthah and his daughter serves as an example for us to not make foolish vows or oaths. It should also serve as a warning to make sure any vow we make is something that is not in violation of God’s Word. -

Since the nation of Isreal reestablished itself in1948, it is much easier to believe we are in the last days. Jesus will come into his kingdom, the one denied to him 2000 years ago. But, before that can happen, the nation had to rise from the ashes and her people had to be gathered from all over the world. We have seen that happen, just a as scripture predicted.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” - Luke 1: 32

Blood decisions are now your problem: WT JULY 2025
by raymond frantz inthe following is from the latest study watchtower july 2025, study article 28, paragraph 17:.
each christian must make up his or her own mind about whether to accept or to reject these fractions.
we may find it a challenge to understand this matter fully, but making decisions like this is part of the load that each of us must carry.

There are no dead in heaven. Any in heaven are alive.
@Rattigan:
You do realize that Watchtower has indoctrinated you don't you? There are lots of dead people are in heaven. I'm going there when I die.whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. - 2 Cor. 5

I thought that the good news was that they were bringing Jehovah’s word.
@FallenWinter
The good news is supposed to be the literal Millennial Reign of Christ according to Watchtower. But for practical purposes, the good news is really themselves starring as God's Sole Channel of Communicatiion. They are the "word" of Jehovah in their estimation.
2/3 of Evangelicals believe in a literal kingdom of God on earth, pretty much same as JW's do. tHowever, he good news in the church age is reconciliation with God. You can join his family and become his son or daughter with promises of inheritance and eternal life.
This is the primary biblical theme WT wants to hide from you by telling you that the new covenant "for the forgiveness of sins" isn't available to you. (See Mt. 26: 27-28)God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the ministry of reconciliation.... we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. - 2 Cor. 5
John 1: 12 - as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God
This is what you are missing. -

So I guess what you’re saying is that after studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses for months on end you still don’t know (or agree) on what their good news is.
I find that very interesting.
